Classes resumed for the Fall at both locations in mid-September, 2010. I took a much needed break and did some traveling up the west coast of Florida and then visited Northern California.
We are back in swing of things and have had fun creating new products such as the Lucky Penny Necklace which combines Stringing and Bead Weaving methods. I even created a pattern for coordinating earrings (shown above).
The evening class at McDonald Center will offer Kumihimo weaving starting the last week of October for 2 sessions. For this you will need to purchase a Kumihimo weaving disk in class for $4.50 - a bargain compared to beading websites! Classes at Bead Fests teaching this skill can run from $90 to $150. You can try it out for just $10 a class. Not bad. And you will have a gorgeous comfortable bracelet to wear at the end of class. All you need to start is some yarn in several colors or narrow fabric ribbons in 4 colors, plus some findings.
I hope you can join me for an upcoming class at either location.
I guarantee you will have fun and learn a new jewelry-making skill or two.
